I'm interested to know the thought process on a couple of these rankings?  First i find it hard to believe any team in the now defunct Tri County South other then Beth-Center can be a top 10 team. Then an Eastern conf team doesnt come in until #7? It looks like there's a couple missing if anything. In my opinion a couple havent proven anything, and others I think lost more then the rankings show. By far without question the Black Hills is the toughest conference. One question that gets to me is the WPIAL moved teams around in A to make it more balanced & competitive. Looks like they did that, but how does Beth Center not get moved? The rest of those teams will have great competition. But BC still being there seems ridiculous. Not one challenging game now. Anyway, My order would be as follows:1. Clairton  2. Sto-Rox  3. Rochester  4. Brentwood  5. Springdale  6. Beth Center  7.  Bishop Canevin  8. Monessen  9. Avonworth  10. OLSH.  I might be off on a couple give or take, but I think it's closer to reality. That last spot can be debated with a couple others. But I'll go with it.

I find it interesting that Laurel is not in these rankings. Laurel was a contender in the tough AA with the likes of Aliquippa, and Beaver Falls. They are also the only team to beat Clairton in the past 47 games. Don't under estimate the Spartans - we will see a lot from them in the "Big Seven"!

There is no doubt on the top two... Although i find it very amusing that the that the one team not in the top ten beat the number one Clairton bears and humiliated Beth center no. 5 three years ago..their last season in single a. I'll just say people should stop crying about the blackhills conference when the big seven will be just as good

With all due respect,  In the Big 9, it's Sto-Rox and Rochester & then we'll see. Maybe OLSH & Laurel....who knows.  But the argument that the Black Hills shouldn't be talked about over the Big 9...and the Big 9 will be just as good?  ....wow......  with what Clairton, Brentwood, & Bishop Canevin have coming back, combined with adding "consistent" playoff teams in Monessen (often a higher team), Fort Cherry, Chartiers-Houston, California, & Serra..........come on now?  Of course everyone's looking at the black hills.  The Big 9 doesn't stack up even if Laurel was great this year. Look at the other teams on both sides from top to bottom.  The teams I mentioned from the Hills are in the playoffs year in year out.  I don't think the same can be said for that conference once you get below those top 2. Now as far as Laurel...they may very well have a good team this year.  I hope they do.  But to make them comparable based on beating Clairton in 09? I'll respond by saying they beat Clairton 15-8 to start that season (3 years ago). But then lost to them 33-0 at the end of the season. Add to that, the year before that they lost 41-0 to Clairton.  If anything, that means they caught Clairton on a very rare "off" day and otherwise were in the same boat as the rest of the teams in single A (was no match for Clairton). And I won't even speak on the Beth Center win because they weren't even the best team in their conference that year. They weren't until the last 2 years. The Steelers won the Superbowl 3 years ago in 09.........so what does that mean for 2012?                It means the Steelers won the Superbowl 3 years ago in 09.

Its not a matter of 2009 and beating Clairton  - its a matter that Laurel is always a strong football school - It does not matter if Laurel plays in A or AA - they always make waves. I look to see some big things from Laurel this year. Great start with a shut in the first round. Good luck to the Laurel Spartans for 2012!

Where is  Monessen  They beat No.  4 Brentwood  on thier home field last year. They did the same to No. 6  Bishop Canevin. They totally embarrass Frazier in last year week one scrimmage. The WPIAL move us out of the Tri-County South which was a blessing and into the rough Blackhills  conference. the Hounds go 10-2 with losses to No.1 Clairton and  Neshannock in the seconds of the Quarter finals. Where is the love for  a 10-2 team?
